Classes for 7 to 11 Year Olds
This combination class is perfect for families who may be short on time. Proper ballet, tap and jazz technique are taught using age appropriate music and dance steps. Students practice and develop all three disciplines by learning combinations, across the floor and age appropriate dances.
Ballet is the foundation of all other dance styles. Beginner to advanced students are taught vocabulary, proper alignment and classical ballet technique by using the barre, center and across the floor work. Classes include adagio and allegro work and combinations using balance, strength and style.
Lyrical/Contemporary are styles of dance that use the emotion and mood of the music to elicit movements from the dancer. The class includes progressions, floor work, center combinations and improvisation.
Hip-Hop classes combine street dance with funk and jazz similar to what you would see on popular dance television shows. Dancers will get to move and groove in a fun hip hop styled class! Students learn hip hop steps, correct terminology, and combinations each week as well as work on a full dance routine for our Spring recital.
Does your heart beat a jig? Irish dance classes are available for all ability levels. Classes focus on Irish dance technique, traditional Irish music and traditional Irish dance steps.
Moore Than Dance believes in developing “Triple-threat” performers. We encourage all of our students to study dance, singing and acting. In our Musical Theater classes, performers learn proper singing and dance technique taught by working professionals in the arts. Students learn about breath support, belting, and how to manipulate their voices to create different sounds and how to incorporate choreography into their singing.
Moore Than Dance is a certified member of Acrobatic Arts, an international teacher training program which provides Professional Curriculum for Acrobatic Dance. Acrobatic Dance, or Acro, is the beautiful fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering, based in flexibility, contortion and strength.

Act it out!
Acting and improvisation are essential for all performers. Dancers need to know how to use expression in their faces and feel the music, musicians need to know how to feel the music inside their soul. Improvisation is even helpful for job and school interviews!
